Our mission is to inspire young wrestlers to invest not only in themselves but in the wrestling community as well. We strive reinforce the essential characteristics that help foster the development of outstanding individuals; in the wrestling room, in school and at home. Family has been the foundation of this program for over 25 years and we carry on that tradition through our coaches, athletes, and parents. We pride ourselves in the fact that our Mat Rat community family has helped build this team into one of the top programs in San Diego County.

Practice is held at La Costa Canyon High School in the wrestling room located on the backside of the gym. Please park in the main lot and follow the signs. There will be no access allowed through the gym. La Costa Canyon High School 1 Maverick way, Carlsbad CA 92009 This year we are fine-tuning our practice schedule to offer our wrestlers more specialized coaching. Evening schedule is broken into two sessions Mondays and Wednesday session for wrestlers of all skill levels or Tuesday and Thursday Advanced Session geared for competition.

Winter Maverick Matrats
Mat Rats 2018-2019 Winter Season Details:
November 13, 2018 (Tues) – February 7, 2019 (Thurs)
Evenings 6:00pm – 7:15pm
Practice is held at La Costa Canyon High School in the wrestling room located on the backside of the gym. Winter session will be geared toward introduction to wrestling and introduction to competition. Please park in the main lot and follow the signs. There will be no access allowed through the gym. Kids must be signed in by an adult and released to an adult please don’t drop off at front.
Beginner Session Cost: $250 (includes shirt)
Monday and Wednesday 6:00 pm -7:15 pm
Beginner Session is geared for new wrestlers with little or no experience for introduction into wrestling, tumbling, and body awareness. (optional duels)
